Mr. Rodolfo "Rudy" Salinas
It is with great pride and gratitude that I continue serving as the Principal of Bush Middle School, now in my fourth year leading this amazing campus. Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside our outstanding students, dedicated staff, and supportive Bush community to create a safe, inclusive, and thriving environment where every student can reach their fullest potential.
Prior to my time at Bush, I served six years as an assistant principal—five at Reagan High School and one at Driscoll Middle School. From 2009 to 2015, I taught mathematics and coached football and baseball at Reagan High School. Before joining NEISD, I taught and coached in several districts across Texas. This school year marks my 30th year in education, and I remain deeply thankful for the opportunity to continue doing what I love most—serving and helping our youth grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
I was raised in the small South Texas town of Benavides as the youngest of six children. Athletics has always played a significant role in my life and inspired me to pursue education. I earned a double major in Mathematics and Kinesiology from Texas A&M University–Kingsville in 1996, followed by a Master of Education with Principal Certification from Concordia University Texas in 2015.
I am married to Gretchen (Hoelscher) Salinas, who currently serves as NEISD’s Advanced Academic Coordinator and AVID District Director. Together, we have three wonderful children: Grace, a senior at Texas State University; Julian (JJ), a junior at Madison High School; and KyAnn, a sophomore at Reagan High School.
As your principal, my mission is to foster a school culture built on respect, teamwork, and excellence. I believe in always doing what is best for kids and maintaining safety as our top priority. I strive to promote a caring, positive environment where both students and staff feel valued, challenged, and inspired to grow. Most importantly, I believe every child deserves the opportunity to be part of something great.
At Bush Middle School, “Success is our Destiny,” and I am honored to lead our students, staff, and community as we continue to learn, grow, and achieve together.

Mrs. Amanda Taylor
At Bush Middle School, we often say, “Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.” After more than two decades here, I can wholeheartedly say the phrase rings true.
I began my teaching career at Bush in 1998 as a 6th grade ELAR teacher, completing my student teaching on campus with the very students I would teach after graduating from Texas A&M University. Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive recognitions including the Superintendent’s Award, the Bush Trinity Award for Excellence in Teaching, the PTA Lifetime Achievement Award, and Teacher of the Year. I earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2009, served as English Department Chair for a decade, and later transitioned into administration as an assistant principal.
Today, as Academic Dean of Instruction, I am grateful to be back in the work I love most—supporting students, teachers, and high-quality instruction every day.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, gardening, camping, and spending time with my family. I met my husband in college, and together we are raising two wonderful boys—one in middle school and one in high school. Bush has been my home since its first year, and I continue to feel blessed to serve this incredible community.

Brooke Vasquez
Hello! My name is Brooke Vasquez, and I am honored to serve in my current role as Assistant Principal at Bush Middle School. Throughout my 19-year career in education, I’ve grown through meaningful experiences across the classroom, campus, and district levels. I know my new role as Assistant Principal will continue to shape me both professionally and personally. I began my career as a teacher for 13 years and later transitioned into district leadership, serving 3 years as a Science Instructional Specialist and 3 years as a K–12 Science Director. Each chapter has strengthened my commitment to supporting educators, empowering students, and elevating the learning experience for every child.
I earned my Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of the Incarnate Word. I am currently continuing my own learning journey by pursuing a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership/School Administration. Lifelong learning is central to who I am and guides the work I do every day.
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Vincent, for 20 wonderful years, and he is an attorney with the Gamez Law Firm. We are blessed with four amazing children, two girls and two boys, who inspire me daily and keep our lives fun, busy, and full of gratitude.
I am truly excited to join the Bush Bulldog community! It is an honor to support our students, families, and staff, and I look forward to building strong, collaborative partnerships!
